Tom Velken - Commercial and Residential Real Estate Leader
Based in Lafayette, California, Tom Velken is a commercial and residential real estate leader with more than three decades of experience. He established Viking Real Estate Group in 1995 and continues to manage all aspects of business operations and client relations as one of the firm’s principals. Throughout his career, he has accrued significant experience in all areas of the real estate industry, including acquisition, development, and finance. During his time at Catellus Development Corporation, Tom Velken managed all financial analysis activities for around 2 million acres of land valued at approximately $2.7 billion. He also completed upwards of 250 real estate investment transactions at Inverness Real Estate Investments, with a combined value of more than $200 million.
Tom Velken holds a history degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the California Association of Professionals and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. He is part of a classic rock cover band that has raised more than $250,000 for local schools and charitable organizations, including the Interfaith Housing Council, Moment By Moment and the Community Foundation of Lafayette. In addition to playing the bass guitar, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, skiing, fishing and wild boar hunting.
